This coffee really is the giant of all coffees! It delivers a huge taste from a huge bean, undeniably strong but without any hint of bitterness. It is a great way to kick-start the day or stave off that mid-afternoon lull.
Gold Winner of the Great Taste Awards in 2011, the judges described our Guatemala Elephant Coffee as a "Heavy roast that actually delivers. Well balanced flavours. No ashiness and some gentle chocolate notes. Big, brave and bold - and it worked."
The coffee gets its name from its enormous beans, grown on Arabica bushes on small plantations on the fertile volcanic slopes of Lake Atitlan. Extremely rare and highly prized, the plantations combine their precious harvests and take them to local cooperatives to be pulped. The massive elephant beans are roasted to a deep shade of mahogany to bring out their rich full-bodied taste.
Guatemalan Elephant Coffee is a decadently rich coffee for any time of day, with a delicious hint of chocolate and oozing honey sweetness.
