Choosing the right tea

Fancy a change from your usual breakfast cuppa? Searching for the perfect brew to enjoy in the evening? Here are a few suggestions for what to try:

Morning

Ideally, your first cup of the day should help to kick start your metabolism and energize your body for the day ahead.

  • English Breakfast – the ultimate classic blend. Assam for strength, Ceylon for depth and Kenyan for colour. We can't imagine starting the day without it.
  • Breakfast Earl Grey – Earl Grey is traditionally an afternoon tea, but you wanted a version strong enough for breakfast, so we created a fine blend including malty Assam, crisp Ceylon and mellow Kenyan.
  • Gunpowder - Enjoyed first thing in the morning Green Tea helps boost the metabolism, increases energy levels and helps to aid weight loss. Try this Chinese green tea – smooth, with a hint of sweetness!

Afternoon

Choose an invigorating tea that will help restore your concentration and energy levels for an afternoon perk.

  • Earl Grey  - the classic afternoon tea named after a 19th century English Prime Minister. It combines fine black tea with the distinctive citrusy taste of Bergamot.
  • Afternoon Blend -  this house blend was created in the 1940s for long lingering afternoons. An aromatic blend of fine black and jasmine green tea is combined with the distinctive flavour of bergamot.
  • Orange Pekoe - A Ceylon-style large leaf blend from the midland gardens of Sri Lanka, it is loved for its citrusy taste and makes a refreshing afternoon brew.

Evening

This is the time to go caffeine-free, and choose a soothing blend that will relax you after the stresses and strains of the day.

  • Rooibos – South Africa's favourite 'red bush' drink. Caffeine-free, low in tannin, with a hint of toffee - caramel flavour. Delicious brewed strong and served with milk, or black with a spoonful of honey.
  • Peppermint – the perfect tea to sip after supper. An extremely good digestive, which soothes and relaxes body and mind.
