Drink a cup of Luxury Hot Chocolate on its own made with milk or add whipped cream, marshmallows and chocolate powder for that authentic artisan taste.

Brew a Perfect Cup

Spoon 3 heaped teaspoons (20g) into a mug or cup, maybe a couple more if you are feeling decadent. Gently heat approximately 200ml of milk and pour onto the chocolate stirring thoroughly. For a moment of true indulgence, top with whipped cream, marshmallows and a generous sprinkle of hot chocolate powder.

Best Hot Chocolate I have tasted. Can't understand how anyone can describe it as "gritty". Just needs to be made properly, with a bit of T.L.C.

My rating is strictly for the old packed product, I have no reason to believe that the product in the new packaging is any different, but it the old product (now only available as "outlet") is far better value.

The product itself is superb and by far the best I have tasted; however I object very strongly to the hidden cost increase in the new packaging. That the cost has increased is probably inevitable given the rise of the cost of chocolate on commodity markets, but I object to combining a price increase with re-packaging into a smaller volume tub, a lot of people will only notice the relatively modest marked price increase and not realise that they are getting less for more money. I actually spoke to somebody at Whittard about this and was told that there was a new policy of filling tubs to the top - this is irrelevant and misleading, the content weight is what matters and this is clearly marked on the tub, as required by law.

As a parting shot, can we have the Tiramisu flavour back please - in the old packaging!

My favourite hot chocolate, I just keep coming back to it as no other cocoa delivers the same richness. I find it also goes lovely and thick when made with non-dairy milk (soya, almond etc).
To those saying this is gritty or bland -- this hot chocolate needs quite a stir into very hot milk before it dissolves completely, the grit is whole grains of sugar and the cocoa is so rich it will not dissolve any other way. You have to work to get the quality, and this is certainly better than any instant hot chocolate. I recommend using an electric hand milk-frother for best results -- beautifully creamy and sumptuous.

Made this with skimmed milk but it still tasted creamy, rich and delicious. Easily as good as anything from any of the well-known coffee shops. Not sure how other reviewers found it gritty, I found it smooth. Maybe it's the way people mix it? Maybe they didn't heat the milk enough so that the sugar dissolved?
