Origin: South America blend Body: Full-bodied Roast: Dark Roast (5) Summary of taste: Luxuriously strong and rich Whittard recommends: Using an espresso machine or cafetière and enjoying black or with milk according to taste When to drink: With dessert or cheese after a meal
Blending Arabica beans from Colombia and Brazil, our After Dinner coffee is a strong roast with a rich conviviality of flavours wonderful for sharing among friends. Hints of caramelised brown sugar and bittersweet cocoa reveal the predominance of the Colombian beans, while the inclusion of Brazilian beans allows for mellow, creamier notes and a distinctly nutty finish. With a lingering sweetness balanced by a measured fruity acidity, you’ll find this coffee the perfect accompaniment to dessert, cheese and liqueur.

I have drunk this coffee for a number of years and there's nothing like it. Tangy, sweet and fresh. Strong but with plenty of hot milk it's great for breakfast as well as after dinner.
BUT the last 2 kg I bought are definitely inferior (cost cutting for more profit?) The beans are not as large or as black and shiny as usual and the taste is the same as supermarket 5 strength beans.
I'll give it one more go and if it's not like it used to be I might as well buy the cheaper stuff from the supermarket.

Wasn't expecting this to pack quite the punch it does, for a strong, dark roast! The beans smell quite smoky and a little vintaged but the taste is vivid, rich, definitely good with or without milk - never say this one is tasteless!
Lovely and strong

My favourite. Great to finally find a good strongly flavoured coffee. So many say they are strength 5 but they don't seem very satisfying to me.
I've found it! My perfect Bean.

The only thing wrong with this bean is its name! I drink this coffee morning, noon and night. I am always on the hunt for the perfect bean - I start off with the look of the bean : good and dark and oily. Then comes the nose (mine is substantial). The aroma of these beans is delicious, something you would want to breath in all day long. And it tastes as good as it smells. Rich, strong and a little nutty and sweet. Simple the best and I get through 500g a week.
