Origin: Blended Leaf Type: Black Tea and Spices Taste: Zesty with Exotic Aromas Drink: Without Milk Brew: Lightly, 2-3 minutes according to taste with water off the boil When to drink: Afternoon
Spiced Chai is a zesty blend of a southern Asian drink known as masala chai. Every day in railway stations and busy markets, chai wallahs sell trays of spiced tea in small clay cups. Our version mixes black tea with the intense flavours of cinnamon, cloves, ginger, cardamom and black pepper, which creates a wealth of exotic aromas.
Great Taste Awards judges love it too - "The tea has the right balance and good defined flavours which work well together."
Ideally warm the pot first with a splash of hot water. Use one teaspoon (around 2g) per cup and always use freshly drawn and boiled water. Allow to brew for 3-5 minutes according to taste. Can be drunk with or without milk.
this is the best and only chai as far as I am concerned and totally essential for crisp sold winter days. The only thing that spoiled it was the delivery man who has breathtakingly rude and surly!

As a recent convert back to loose tea I decided to try this as I had previously enjoyed the Christmas spiced tea. This is just beyond anything I have ever tasted before. It smells and tastes heavenly, it is warming and strangely filling too. Although I am trying other loose teas this will be at the top of my list and a regular purchase

having tried the Twinning Chai I was desperately disappointed it had non of the flavour or spiciness that Chai should have. The whittards Chai is completely different and just what I have been looking for, an excellent product that will not disappoint.
Perfect Tea for festive celebration

I have been buying this tea for Christmas for years as a little treat to the family. The taste of spices perfectly balances and compliments the natural tea aroma. I would recommend this to anyone!

Best tea in the world! I love the spicey flavours that warm you from your head to your toes!

I fell in love with the Christmas tea and when I couldn't get it anymore I thought I would give this a try - and I'm glad I did! It's brilliant and I have invested in a teapot with deep infuser - no need for tea bags anymore. I give it 5 stars:)

I love this loose tea, which is far more aromatic when loose than when in a teabag. Please make it easier to get hold of since it really is special!
Essential Winter Warmer

This loose tea is a must, especially in the winter, as it really does give a feeling of warmth and well-being. It is the most delicious of all the Chai teas that we have tried, and we enjoy it with a splash of milk. I stock up on it for the winter, to ensure a steady supply to help me through the winter season. It is divine!
forever out of stock

In our household, we drink this tea near religiously, WHEN we can get out hands on it. It has a wonderful flavour, and the teabag version is quite different. It is bizarre how this tea is always out of stock, and although our local establishment in the South West does try to order to cater for the demand, it is still far short of the amount that is obviously required.
A family staple

The teabags are not a patch on this loose, black, beautifully spiced chai, which has become a staple in our house, something we drink ritually twice a day, with a dash of milk as our breakfast and afternoon tea. Unfortunately this product, along with the similarly great Imperial Spiced tea is either very popular or undervalued by Whittards, as it is invariably out of stock on both the website and in stores throughout London.
