Origin: Sri Lanka Leaf Type: Single Estate Black Tea Taste: Warm and smooth with delicious floral notes Drink: With or without milk Brew: 3-5 minutes according to taste When to drink: Afternoon
Deliciously smooth and mature, this tea is characterised by long, spidery twists of leaf, rare for a Ceylon grown at high altitude. The oaky flavour also gives it a distinctly traditional feel, ideal for autumn afternoons.
Ceylon tea from Sri Lanka is celebrated for its clean, crisp taste; this is a particularly fine variety from the Pettiagalla Estate, one of Sri Lanka’s oldest and most distinguished plantations. Tea from Pettiagalla is processed with timehonoured antique tea rollers for a true taste of tradition, producing an elegant long leaf and a delicate floral aroma. The ideal brew to accompany a long afternoon.
Ideally warm the pot first with a splash of hot water. Use one teaspoon (around 2g) per cup and always use freshly drawn and boiled water. Allow to brew for 3-5 minutes according to taste. Can be drunk with or without milk.
