This tea is quite simply the jewel in India’s crown. A rare, white, single estate tea, made in only very limited qualities, it is one of the best teas in the world.
Darjeeling teas are grown in the foothills of the Himalayas. Intermittent rain, sun and moisture-laden mists nurture the centuries-old tea gardens in the landscape that inspired Rudyard Kipling to craft his stories. For this unique tea, the smallest shoots, still covered in dew, are picked by hand then simply left to dry in the sun. The taste is exquisite, gently aromatic yet full of flavour.
Ideally warm the pot first with a splash of hot water. Use one teaspoon (around 2g) per cup and use freshly drawn water which is heated to around 80 degrees. You can either pour the water before it reaches boiling point or allow the water to sit for a few minutes afterwards. Allow to brew for 2-3 minutes according to taste. Should be drunk without milk.
was in shop just before start of Commonwealth Games this summer and tried variety of teas ....this was by far my favourite ....can't put my finger on why but it was and was upset to discover it was the most expensive in the shop!!....always knew I'd class!!

Like Tom struggling to get a decent level of taste from this tea.

So far after four mornings brew I can't get a taste out of this tea, apart from a subtle chocolate aroma - I'm still trying but experience so far shows a large amount of leaves are required and a 5 minute brew a minimum! Silver Tips is far more flavoursome, but beware this years crop is dull and disappointing - ah well plenty more to try! :)
