Origin: Anhui Province, China Leaf Type: Single Estate Black Tea Taste: Sweet plum and pine Drink: With or without milk Brew: 3-5 minutes according to taste When to drink: In the morning
Originating from the Keemun region of China’s Anhui Province, this rich and plummy style of tea was first produced when a former civil servant tried his hand at farming, deciding to go against traditional methods and create a new black tea instead of the typical green.
The result was a uniquely refreshing and flavoursome brew, now one of the most popular teas from China. With its fruity aroma and subtle notes of plum and pinewood, Keemun tea is an ideal choice for the morning.
Ideally warm the pot first with a splash of hot water. Use one teaspoon (around 2g) per cup and always use freshly drawn and boiled water. Allow to brew for 3-5 minutes according to taste. Can be drunk with or without milk.
