Taste: Rich and malty with hints of spice and smoke
Drink: With or without milk
Brew: 3-5 minutes according to taste
When to drink: On golden mornings
Grown in China’s southern Yunnan Province, our Tippy Golden Yunnan is a wonderfully warming tea with a strong honey-sweetness and smooth malty taste, slightly lighter than an Assam. Harvested by hand, the large, bright leaves have an attractive golden tip, producing a richly russet brew with a subtle smokiness and a hint of spice.
We tend to brew this tea lightly to fully appreciate its layered sweetness, but it also holds its own against a splash of milk.
Ideally warm the pot first with a splash of hot water. Use one teaspoon (around 2g) per cup and always use freshly drawn and boiled water. Allow to brew for 3-5 minutes according to taste. Can be drunk with or without milk.
