Tukdah has produced the most sensational Darjeeling tea, made of long twists of silvery tips and green unopened buds selectively picked over a three day period from specially pruned bushes, exclusively for Whittard. Late rains saved the day, encouraging bold new shoots, so Tukdah is greener, sweeter and lighter than most First Flush. Lightly fermented, Oolong-style, it looses any 'green tea dryness' but captures the most exquisite floral bouquet. It is naturally sweet with Darjeeling's characteristic 'meadow fragrance'. There is a scarcely astringent, dry, gently toasted character, which gives length and gentle firmness to the flavour.
