Origin: Jitpur, Nepal
Leaf Type: Single estate black tea
Taste: Similar to Darjeeling, with gentle nutmeg overtones
Drink: Best enjoyed black
Brew: Lightly, 2-3 minutes according to taste
When to drink: In the afternoon
Grown at high altitude, the teas of Nepal share similar qualities to those of neighbouring Darjeeling, blessed with a light, delicate sweetness. Cultivated under the heavy Himalayan mists of the small hilly village of Jitpur 1400 metres above sea level, this long leaf tippy tea has a superbly subtle taste profile, laced with gentle notes of nutmeg.  We love this tea’s clarity of flavour – and so did the judges of the 2013 and 2014 Great Taste Awards, praising its “pleasing creaminess and mouth-feel, together with some muscatel character.”
Also a winner of the 2013 Great Taste Awards **

100% Black Tea

Packed in an environment where nuts are handled

Brew a Perfect Cup

Ideally warm the pot first with a splash of hot water. Use one teaspoon (around 2g) per cup and always use freshly drawn and boiled water. Allow to brew for 3-5 minutes according to taste. Best drunk without milk.

A lovely flavoured tea great for an afternoon cuppa. Mild flavour and very refreshing.

This tea is slightly deeper in taste than a darjeeling. It tastes great at first sip and has a lovely, almost plummy, aftertone.

One of the best I've tasted. A great tea.
