October's Tea of the Month
Origin: Assam, India
Leaf Type: Single Estate Black Tea
Taste: Slightly sweet, malty and robust
Drink: With or without milk
Brew: 3-5 minutes according to taste
When to drink: To brighten up breakfast
The strongest of all our Assams, this second flush tea from the hot, humid Harmutty tea gardens is nonetheless refreshing, superb as a breakfast brew with a dash of milk. Before becoming the first tea to be cultivated by the British, Assam originally grew wild on the vast flood plains of the Brahmaputra River - this particular variety is considered one of the very best in the region. We love its substantial full-bodied smoothness and malty sweetness.

100% Black Tea

Packed in a nut environment

Brew a Perfect Cup

Ideally warm the pot first with a splash of hot water. Use one teaspoon (around 2g) per cup and always use freshly drawn and boiled water. Allow to brew for 3-5 minutes according to taste. Can be drunk with or without milk.

This is our standard breakfast tea - I have been buying it for several years and the quality is always excellent. I only wish that they would sell it in larger packets, as I do not like destroying and wasting the 125g resealable pouches.

Lovely tea for first thing! We often drink it it in bed with the newspaper. We may drink it later in the day and we find we use more of this than any other tea. Robust but not dusty.

Strong with plenty of taste. Works well with soya milk.

This is my basic tea throughout the day. In fact I haven't tried it with milk. It is slightly nutty and robust. Also makes very good iced tea.
