Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic is a nation of coffee drinkers, exporting less than 20% of the 350,000-500,000 bags of Arabica produced each year! It’s easy to see why they might prefer to keep the beans to themselves – the balmy, humid climate and fertile soil of the regions around the island’s four mountain ranges couldn’t be more suitable for coffee farming. Most of the coffee produced is shade-grown for a mature, sweeter bean, and the crop is typically shaded by pine, macadamia and guava trees.

A really good medium-bodied coffee, hints of chocolate and Hazlenut come through well. Tremendously smooth drink too.

Drinking this after having stuck with a medium-dark roast coffee is just the perfect re-introduction to medium roast coffee. A hint of hazelnut and creamy milk chocolate make this a great all-rounder for filter, cafetiere and stovetop, and continues being wonderfully smooth as well - light on the acidity.
