Product Details

Grown on the high slopes of southern Ethiopia, this is coffee with character. Fresh and fruity, its chocolate aromas give way to a remarkable lemony flavour with a strong hint of blueberries—and a creamy, subtle vanilla aftertaste. So it’s no surprise that we were immediately captivated by this medium roast’s unusual personality, which we’re delighted to present as one of our limited edition coffees.

The Sidamo region of Ethiopia is famed for its high quality coffee: with altitudes of almost 2000 metres, ample rainfall and rich, fertile soil, it’s a dream for coffee farmers. The coffee fruit is picked by hand, then dried in the sun for three weeks. As drying continues, a meticulous sorting process separates out the cherries according to ripeness—the result is quality coffee with a quirky twist. It’s a standard-bearer for the unique flavours of the region, and has a cheeky berry zing that’s ideal for a mid-morning boost.

A note from Whittard

“I’m really into my light roasts, so I usually go for Kenya Peaberry or Jamaica Blue Mountain. One’s bright and citrusy, the other’s smooth and herby.”
