Bolivia doesn’t produce a lot of coffee, but this limited quantity is well worth seeking out. Grown in the famous Yungas region not far from La Paz, it’s a fruity, subtly layered coffee with notes of apple, blackberries and dried papaya – we love it with a healthy breakfast.
 
Grown on the fertile soil of the Andes, our Bolivia Calama beans are picked, then transported to the capital to be processed. It’s a treacherous journey: every coffee bean grown in the Yungas region has to travel the famous “Death Road”, which winds across the Andes mountains from the dry Altiplano to the lush forest of the Amazon jungle. It’s partly this journey which makes Bolivian coffee such a rarity – we’re delighted to offer this exceptional example as a limited edition.

Brew the perfect cup

This exotic coffee is delicious brewed using a filter method to highlight those lovely fruity flavours: an AeroPress, a syphon or a dripper like the V60 work well. When making coffee always use freshly drawn and boiled water – wait a few seconds for the water to cool so you don’t scald the grinds. Cardinal rule? Never reheat brewed coffee: freshness is everything.
