Product Details

Grown high on the slopes of western Honduras, our latest limited edition coffee balances a smooth, chocolatey depth with complex spice notes and gutsy caramel. It’s a testament to the success of the cooperative that’s grown it: Coagricsal (or the Cooperativa Agrícola Cafetalera San Antonio) combines a focus on ethical production that improves conditions for the local community with a fierce dedication to the quality of their coffee.
Founded in 1995, the cooperative now includes 800 members and produces pepper and cocoa as well as speciality coffee. We’ve given this particular lot a dark roast to highlight those intriguing spice notes – it’s a delicious after-dinner brew, and a warming wake-up for chilly mornings.

Brew the perfect cup

For the perfect cup of coffee, always use fresh water just off the boil to avoid scalding the coffee. Follow the manufacturer’s equipment instructions and adjust according to your taste.

Taste Guarantee

Taste Guarantee

We’re confident that you’ll love our products as much as we do. Our Taste Guarantee means that if anything fails to meet your expectations you can return for an exchange or full refund – just remember to enclose the original receipt if you're returning it by post or popping in store. That way you're free to try something new, without the risk of disappointment.

Coffee has historically been one of Honduras’ leading exports (alongside bananas) and since 2001 the country’s coffee production has increased dramatically. Today Honduras is the largest producer of coffee in Central America with over 100,000 families involved in the industry, the majority of which have their own smallholdings. There’s a huge range of different flavours to be found in Honduran coffees, but the best are often complex and fruity with a delicious juicy acidity.

A note from Whittard

“I’m a bit of a creature of habit, so I go for the same two coffees every time: medium roasted San Agustin Colombia in the morning, smoky Old Brown Java in the evening. Love it!”
