A blend of China teas, the name comes from the 17th century when camel caravans transported China tea to Europe. During the journey, the teas took on the smoky taste of the campfires. We launched it just after the First World War and it still captures a spirit of adventure.

Ingredients

100% Black Tea.

Brew a Perfect Cup

Ideally warm the pot first with a splash of hot water. Use one teaspoon (around 2g) per cup and always use freshly drawn and boiled water. Allow to brew for 3-5 minutes according to taste. Can be drunk with or without milk.

It's OK but not strong on flavour, even when brewed for longer. No wonder it's expensive - the box and packaging were 10 times the size of the pouch and yet there was plenty of stock at my local shop, so postage could have been avoided with click and collect.

Decided to try some new teas, and this was one. I have totally fallen in love with it. Usually drink it without milk, it tastes far better that way. Having got addicted to it I will certainly be buying this again.

As an avid fan of Whittard's black teas, I was expecting an interesting blend. Unfortunately, this tea is rather bland, with no flavour to speak of, even when brewed extensively.

I love the smokiness of this tea. It is lovely, full-bodied & a great way to kick-start the day & chase away Winter blues with thoughts of adventure and travel.

We have become totally addicted to the lovely smoky flavour of Russian caravan tea first thing in the morning, you can nearly hear the camel bells and feel the morning chill by a campfire! Yes an exaggeration but seriously, a very pleasing kick start to the morning.
