The famously fruity green tea blend

This sweet yet sophisticated green tea is perfect for adding a twist of summer exoticism to an afternoon spread, delicately blended with flavours of mango, lulo and bergamot. A Great Taste Award winner in both 2013 and 2014, the judges admired the tea's 'good sweetness on the finish', describing it as 'clean and sweet throughout'.

High quality green Sencha tea leaves form the base of the blend, picked in early spring and steamed and rolled to maintain their verdant colour and herby taste. Scattered with rose, sunflower and blue cornflower petals, our aromatic Mango & Bergamot is as beautiful as it is delicious. We love to display it at home in big glass sweetshop jars, and why not top a green tea cupcake with a delicate petal?

I am always on a lookout for new flavours of green tea and this one was available for tasting in the store. It was served as a cold ice tea and it tasted so nice I decided to buy some. I found that it is equally great freshly brewed and hot. One of my recent favourites.

* * * * * My favourite so far by Angela Samuels on 21st June 2016

I have never been a fan of green tea but when the sales assistant in the York store offered me a smell of this delicious stuff I just had to try it. It is now, by far, my favourite tea.. A single level teaspoon of the leaves makes a small teapot full but don't leave it to brew for any longer than the 2.5 to 3 minutes that is recommended or you won't taste it at its best. I really recommend this tea.

The Chinese invented paper, gunpowder and the compass. But their finest innovation has to be tea, reputedly first discovered by the emperor Shen Nong in 2737 BCE. Originally prepared as a medicinal brew, tea became a drink in its own right during the Han Dynasty (206 BCE – 220 CE), and today China produces thousands of different varieties ranging from black, green and white tea to oolong, puerh and yellow tea. If you’re looking for a bit of teatime reading take a look at Lu Yu’s ‘Tea Classic’: first written in 780 CE, it covers everything from cultivation methods to tea etiquette…

  • Passionfruit & Mango

    Flavoured green tea

    The succulent sweetness of ripe tropical fruits goes rather well with the slight smokiness of gunpowder green tea; think roasted fruit skewers on a Caribbean beach barbecue. We've blended the delicately rolled leaves with juicy mango, pineapple and seductive flavours of passionfruit, not forgetting an exotic confetti of orange petals.

  • Garden Party Oolong

    Flavoured Oolong Tea

    We're usually purists when it comes to oolong, but this floral and fruity blend is a celebration of everything we love about the tea's distinctive taste. Vibrant flavours of passionfruit highlight the roasted, nutty notes of the leaf, while pieces of papaya, strawberry and pineapple create layered shades of sweetness. A tea to sip on balmy summer evenings.

    The clean, refreshing taste of quality steamed Sencha is a dreamy match for the lush tropical tastes of coconut and pineapple.
