Queen Victoria was in her heyday when Walter Whittard set up shop in 1886, and the following year the country celebrated her Golden Jubilee.
Walter was always developing new blends to suit his customers' tastes, so you can imagine him designing a tea just like this to mark the occasion – there are few loose leaf teas more suited to scones and clotted cream.
