History states this high-quality tea got its name when the East India Trading Company presented it to the Dutch Royal Family, the House of Orange, and then promoted the tea as 'Orange Pekoe' to suggest a royal warrant. A Ceylon-style large leaf blend from the midland gardens of Sri Lanka, it is loved for its citrusy taste.

Ingredients

Brew the perfect cup

Ideally warm the pot first with a splash of hot water. Use one teaspoon (around 2g) per cup and always use freshly drawn and boiled water. Allow to brew for 3-5 minutes according to taste. Can be drunk with or without milk.

A note from Whittard

“I’m a huge oolong fan – the sheer diversity of different flavours is pretty mind-boggling. My favourites are the creamy, almost buttery high grown oolongs grown in Taiwan.”

* * * - - Quite fruity tasting by Sarah Franklin on 31st May 2015

I agree with the reviewer who has said that this tea is probably best without milk. This is because it has quite a fruity taste to it. I prefer my tea with milk, so I didn't particularly like it.

* * * * * Orange Pekoe loose leaf tea by Alexander Porter on 19th May 2015

This is one of our favourite teas and can be enjoyed at any time of day. Best without milk but a little sugar can be ok. A Great Tea.
