Blended with real almonds and vanilla pieces...

Bringing together the tastes of fine black tea and the buttery sweetness of shortbread, we’ve captured the spirit of English tea drinking in a single cup. Our tea tasters have chosen a base of deliciously robust black tea and blended it with real almonds and vanilla pieces to recreate that authentic shortbread taste.

It’s divine as an afternoon treat, either on its own or with a plate of its namesake biscuits.

  • Origin

  • Tastes like

    Freshly opened vanilla pods and crumbly pastry

  • When to drink

    Perfect for afternoon tea

Brew the perfect cup

Ideally warm the pot first with a splash of hot water. Use one teaspoon (around 2g) per cup and always use freshly drawn and boiled water. Allow to brew for 3-5 minutes according to taste. Can be drunk with or without milk.

A note from Whittard

“I’m a huge oolong fan – the sheer diversity of different flavours is pretty mind-boggling. My favourites are the creamy, almost buttery high grown oolongs grown in Taiwan.”

* * * * - So tasty by Zoi on 1st March 2015

This tea is actually so tasty. It smells amazingly as well. The downside is that the amount of tea in the bag is ridiculous compared to the price of £6.

I bought this tea based on it's smell, which is amazing! I was persuaded to take a risk with the excellent returns policy. However, I was pleasantly surprised that it tastes just as good as it smells. It took me a few attempts to work out how I like it brewed, but even after trying other teas, this remains my favourite. The tea itself is clearly a black tea, and the flavouring does not overpower it. It is slightly sweet due to the vanilla pieces. If you are concerned about the flowers making the tea taste.. flowery, do not be put off, as this contributes to the flavour only mildly.
