Flavour of a fine Scottish malt whisky...

Whittard's Whisky Flavour Tea brings to mind the crisp and warming single malts of the Scottish Highlands. With its distinct taste it is great for teatime or after a brisk walk to warm hands and soul.

To create this tea, we have infused a full-bodied malty black tea with the flavour of a fine Scottish malt whisky. The result is a tea that offers all the comfort of a hot toddy but without the alcohol.

Ingredients

Brew the perfect cup

Ideally warm the pot first with a splash of hot water. Use one teaspoon (around 2g) per cup and always use freshly drawn and boiled water. Allow to brew for 3-5 minutes according to taste. Can be drunk with our without milk.

A note from Whittard

“I’m a big fan of our Mango & Bergamot – the coloured petals look lovely against the green tea leaves, and I like to store it in glass sweetshop jars on my kitchen shelf.”

- Marie Laure, Covent Garden Store Manager

Blended

Ever since our founder Walter Whittard weighed out tea leaves behind his high mahogany counter, we’ve been experimenting with our own inventive blends. The Chinese were the first to try blending tea leaves with fruits and flowers and it takes time, skill and imagination to master the art. It’s all about creating the perfect balance of flavours: we blind taste at least 20 different variations before settling on the perfect recipe. Just as some musicians have perfect pitch, an expert tea blender needs to have some pretty perceptive tastebuds…

I had this tea as promotional item and it was a real nice surprise. Perfect in cold afternoons with or without milk. I have included it in my last order

* * * * - nice but too little by Ruoqi Yang on 22nd April 2015

I bought it out of curiosity despite the review is extreme. I didn't expect too much though. But it's a total surprise!!! I'd rather ranking it favourite of whittard now, and I can't live without it!! It's amazing, smells delicate, tastes malty and tastes just like a sprit of whisky in a pot!! sometimes I can't drink alcohol out of my stomach ache, so I drink it late at night for a substitute for whisky. Caffeine doesn't work on me, so that's fine for me to drink before sleep =)

Either this doesn't taste like whiskey, or I've never tried whiskey before! It has a slight frangrance of whiskey, but the taste is nowhere close... Such a disappointment...

* * * * * Yum! by Arnel on 3rd January 2015

I bought this tea out of curiosity and have to say that I wasn't disappointed in my purchase. The flavor is very subtle, the aroma inviting and since it's non-alcoholic, I don't have any qualms about imbibing in an entire pot!
