Picture the scene: as the first spring rains spread across the Himalayan foothills, the Darjeeling tea gardens start to turn green in a flush of colour – the earliest harvest of the year is referred to as the “First Flush” and is considered one of the finest teas to be produced worldwide.

Grown at a dizzying 4200ft, this year’s Margaret’s Hope First Flush was actually the 10th batch made on the estate this year. With an outstanding floral aroma matched by that bright, muscatel sweetness typical of first flush Darjeelings, it’s clear why some call it the “Champagne of Teas”. Brew the perfect cup

Add one teaspoon (around 2g) of loose leaf tea per cup and always use freshly drawn and boiled water. Allow to brew for 2-3 minutes according to taste. Can be enjoyed with or without milk.
