Distinctive honeyed taste...

Think warm blueberry breakfast muffins... Just without the calories.

Naturally caffeine-free and low in tannins, rooibos is a hugely popular

tea, drunk for its alleged health benefits and distinctive honeyed

taste. We’ve blended this tea with beautiful blueberry flavours for a

refreshing berry burst, the perfect match for the malty richness

of rooibos.

A note from Whittard

“I’m a bit of a traditionalist, so I tend to go for classic black tea blends like Earl Grey, or single origin varieties like Ceylon or Assam. Lapsang Souchong is a treat with hot cross buns.”

South Africa

Herbal rooibos is unique to the Cederberg Mountains in South Africa’s Western Cape province, home to antelopes, leopards and lizards. The Khosian tribes had had been harvesting the leaves of the Aspalathus Linearis plant long before its discovery by the Dutch colonists, who applied the same process of oxidation used to create black tea. As a result, the green, needle-like leaves were transformed to a glowing red, giving the tea its name: rooibos or ‘red bush’ tea. As a herbal plant it’s caffeine free, and the only known source of the antioxidant aspalathin.

* * * * * Fabulous advice at Glasgow store by Nina Taylor on 20th May 2015

Went into the Glasgow store yesterday looking for a decaf loose tea, as I've recently become allergic to caffeine. The staff were ALL so helpful, and let me try the blueberry rooibus, which is lush, so I bought some as a refreshing change to boring normal decaf teabags. Thank you to the wonderful staff at your Glasgow store xxx

* * * * * Fantastic tea! by Charlotte Nisbet on 11th September 2014

Usually I don't like fruit teas as I find them very wishy washy but this tea is beautiful! It's delicious with milk and a squirt of honey and leaves the taste of blueberry muffins in your mouth. My favourite tea for any time of the day, would give it 6 stars if I could.
