Our Very Berry sings of summer, with a symphony of real currants, rosehip shells, raspberry pieces, blackcurrants, elderberries, blueberries and piquant hibiscus flowers. A Great Taste Award winner in both 2011 and 2014, the judges loved its “dark dried fruit aroma which brews to a blushing red, medium-bodied liquor. Very good pronounced blackcurrant and elderberry notes.” Enjoy hot, cold or as a tea-total cocktail with chopped fruit and crushed ice.

Ingredients

Brew the perfect cup

Ideally warm the pot first with a splash of hot water. Use one teaspoon (around 2g) per cup and always use freshly drawn and boiled water. Allow to brew for 3-5 minutes according to taste. Should be drunk without milk.

A note from Whittard

“I’m a huge oolong fan – the sheer diversity of different flavours is pretty mind-boggling. My favourites are the creamy, almost buttery high grown oolongs grown in Taiwan.”

- Bethan, Specialist Tea Buyer

Blended

Ever since our founder Walter Whittard weighed out tea leaves behind his high mahogany counter, we’ve been experimenting with our own inventive blends. The Chinese were the first to try blending tea leaves with fruits and flowers and it takes time, skill and imagination to master the art. It’s all about creating the perfect balance of flavours: we blind taste at least 20 different variations before settling on the perfect recipe. Just as some musicians have perfect pitch, an expert tea blender needs to have some pretty perceptive tastebuds…

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband and it's really really good. You don't need much either so it goes a long way. Tastes as good as it smells. I recommend this if you like fruit tea. I imagine it would taste really good chilled too.

Wow! A party on my tongue! So refreshing. I can't stop drinking this! Only problem is, I'm going to have to treat myself to the special jug! Lol!

* * * * * Perfect iced or hot by Jess on 29th November 2013

I\'ve not tried it with milk, but I\'ve infused it hot to drink immediately, or to chill for later. I\'ve also infused it at room temperature overnight for less elderberry, more raspberry flavor. It is my hands-down favorite tea. It\'s allowed me to get off artificially sweetened colas and squashes. So much nicer, and better for me.
