A sweet but sophisticated green tea...

Juicy mango, lulo and fragrant bergamot flavours make this a sweet but sophisticated green tea, perfect for adding a twist of summer exoticism an afternoon spread. A Great Taste Award winner in both 2013 and 2014, the judges admired our Mango & Bergamot’s “good sweetness on the finish”, describing it as “clean and sweet throughout.”

High quality green Sencha tea leaves form the base of the blend, picked in early spring and steamed and rolled to maintain their verdant colour and herby taste. Scattered with rose, sunflower and blue cornflower petals, this aromatic flavoured tea is as beautiful as it is delicious. We love to display it at home in big glass sweetshop jars, and why not top a green tea cupcake with a delicate petal?

Brew the perfect cup

Ideally warm the pot first with a splash of hot water. Use one teaspoon (around 2g) per cup and use freshly drawn water which is heated to around 80 degrees. You can either pour the water before it reaches boiling point or allow the water to sit for a few minutes afterwards. Allow to brew for 2-3 minutes according to taste. Should be drunk without milk.

A note from Whittard

“At the moment I’m really into white tea blends, like Chelsea Garden and White Chocolate Tea. Both are amazing with anything creamy. Fondant fancies add a touch of kitsch!”

- Kat, Regent Street Store Manager

Ever since our founder Walter Whittard weighed out tea leaves behind his high mahogany counter, we’ve been experimenting with our own inventive blends. The Chinese were the first to try blending tea leaves with fruits and flowers and it takes time, skill and imagination to master the art. It’s all about creating the perfect balance of flavours: we blind taste at least 20 different variations before settling on the perfect recipe. Just as some musicians have perfect pitch, an expert tea blender needs to have some pretty perceptive tastebuds…

The taste is good, but smells like artificial though doesn't show in the body. Fruity smell and fresh taste. Fairly good, maybe It would take a while for me to be used to that

This is a light fragrant tea that would suit any tea lover (or not really into tea lovers). The tea isn't too overwhelming in taste at all, and certainly dances delicately on the tongue. If you are someone who wants a bit more strength in taste then I suggest brewing it for about 4 minutes. I would class this as an end of day tea or a lazy sunday morning tea. Not something I would have if I wanted to start the day with a sudden boost of energy!

* * * * * Great taste! Impressed by Beth on 23rd March 2015

I bought this tea on the recommendation of a lovely shop assistant, who assured me it was her favourite. I've got to say, I'm not disappointed at all. Although it may be cheating adding a teaspoon of sugar, i did find i liked it a lot more with sweetness. It was good to know that if i didn't like it, i could take it back for a full refund. Great service in store, great Tea, i'll be back for more!!

Excellent smell, fantastic taste!!! No comparison between this TEA and their instant "tea"! This is 1000% better! Definitely recommended!

I first tried this Tea as a taster in the Whittard shop in covent garden and was instantly drawn to its aromatic strong fruity yet clean smell. Love the taste its a perfect tea for me at the end of the day, when the day is done, to kick back and brew da mango ! Top tea which i would seriously buy again, Divine

This is one of the nicest teas I've ever had. It's fruity and light. I've recommended it to everyone and intend to buy stocks of it for myself.

* * - - - Not a replacement for Green Earl Grey :( by Christina on 30th April 2014

It was suggested that I should order this tea instead of my favourite, Green Earl Grey Tea. I cannot see how this tea possibly could be a substitute for the lovely Green Earl Grey. Taste is not bad but smell is overpowering and far too perfumed. Please bring the Green Earl Grey back!

* * * * * Highly drinkable by Joseph Bailey on 7th April 2014

This tea is very nice indeed. I drink it on my morning tea break and sometimes again in the afternoon. In contrast to another review, I personally wouldn't liken too closely to Earl Grey. Whilst it does contain bergomot, the dominant flavour is that of the mango in my opinion; it's therefore more of a fruit than a citrus flavour that comes through. Indeed, the taste and smell of mango dominates for me.

* - - - - Very disappointing by Glenn Warren on 8th December 2013

I was very disappointed with this tea which I purchased having previously tried the Earl Grey Green Tea, which does not now seem to be available. It smells like furniture polish, though the taste is not quite as bad. Not again I'm afraid, but it is the only Whittard tea I would say this about. Shame, I purchased 2 packets on the basis of an earlier review! You live and learn.
