Apple & Elderflower

Product Details

Fancy a country stroll?

A richly rustic blend of early autumn apples and hedgerow elderflower, with layers of sweet liquorice, vanilla and hibiscus. In the spirit of rolling hills and golden hay bales, we've added a handful of rural rose and marigold petals for a beautiful infusion. Enjoy delicately iced like the last of the summer wine, or steaming hot to ward off the winter chill.

Oh, and just so you know. Our Apple & Elderflower was awarded a Great Taste Award for the second time in 2014. In the words of the judges? “Great elderflower on the nose and on the palate and then, gloriously, the apple comes through - with some rose as well. This is clever and delivers long, long flavours of quality apple, giving a pleasing level of sweetness." Well, we're in agreement. What's your verdict?

Can't make my mind up with this. Think on a whole, best served cold sliced apple and ice in a jug

* - - - - Smells amazing... Tastes terrible.... by Jo on 3rd May 2018

Firstly - the tea comes out RED, despite it being "Apple and Elderflower", there is an overwhelming apple smell - which is lovely. Then come to taste it... It is SOUR... really sour... like a "berry" taste... you do not expect it to taste that way... very disappointed!

Pleasant but a bit specific. Not something I can drink daily. And the taste is weak, you shall put more than usual per cup.

Really lovely taste, but very surprised by it! Have a lot of taste and taste like sour apple or sour apple cider. Love it!

* * * * - Lovely taste but slightly weak by Ross Alexander Neale on 6th July 2017

As the title says its a fantastic tea but with elderflower you do need quite a bit of it to make an impact on the flavour. I would really recommend this but also hope that Whittards might up their elderflower amount without using it just to bulk the product up weight wise. you need more per spoonful than other teas making it a little expensive.

This is by far my favourite tea. The combination apple with elderflower is perfect in the afternoon.

This tea is so good - really sweet and apple-y. Such a nice caffeine free option which makes me feel really summery.

Ever since our founder Walter Whittard weighed out tea leaves behind his high mahogany counter, we’ve been experimenting with our own inventive blends. The Chinese were the first to try blending tea leaves with fruits and flowers and it takes time, skill and imagination to master the art. It’s all about creating the perfect balance of flavours: we blind taste at least 20 different variations before settling on the perfect recipe. Just as some musicians have perfect pitch, an expert tea blender needs to have some pretty perceptive tastebuds…

You'll also find it makes for a rather beautiful infusion – after all, why shouldn't tea be pretty?
