All Stores DailyMalty and moreish with a smooth honey-sweetness, our herbal rooibos is deliciously flavoursome and naturally caffeine free. Most of the tea you'll taste comes from the Camellia sinensis plant, but rooibos is a whole other story: it's cultivated solely in the Cederberg mountains of South Africa where it's grown on small bushes producing green, needle like leaves. The name 'rooibos' or 'red bush' tea refers to the deep russet colour of the leaves after the process of oxidation, highlighting their naturally rich, treacle-toned taste.
The indigenous bushmen of the region knew the secret of rooibos long before Dutch settlers made it their brew of choice; low in tannins and particularly high in the antioxidant aspalathin, the tea has been used as a herbal remedy for centuries. It's a lovely tea for elevenses, and also rather good in recipes. You might like to have a look at the rooibos and blueberry smoothie on our blog!

Herbal rooibos is unique to the Cederberg Mountains in South Africa’s Western Cape province, home to antelopes, leopards and lizards. The Khosian tribes had had been harvesting the leaves of the Aspalathus Linearis plant long before its discovery by the Dutch colonists, who applied the same process of oxidation used to create black tea. As a result, the green, needle-like leaves were transformed to a glowing red, giving the tea its name: rooibos or ‘red bush’ tea. As a herbal plant it’s caffeine free, and the only known source of the antioxidant aspalathin.
We've given our signature rooibos the number 31 the temperature in Clanwilliam, South Africa, when the tea is harvested at the height of summer . It's thirsty work!

Flavoured Herbal Infusion
Feeling the blues over breakfast? This fruity herbal brew will have you right back on your feet. Our eureka moment arrived over a breakfast bowl of fresh blueberries and yogurt: the honeyed tones of creamy rooibos work wonders with the brightness of blueberries, and blue cornflower petals make for a beautiful infusion. Lovely.

Flavoured Herbal Infusion
Cultivated in the Cederberg Mountains of South Africa, herbal honeybush is a close cousin of rooibos, taking its name from the fragrance of its flowers and warm, honeycomb sweetness. We wouldn't want to gild the lily, but creamy Madagascan vanilla does add a rather delicious twist

Rooibos might translate as red bush', but our exotic rainforest brew is gloriously green. Processed in the same style as a green tea, this more unusual rooibos is uniquely high in antioxidants and reputably rather good for you. Lush tropical flavours and a citrus twist of orange peel give it that equatorial intensity, topped with shower of colourful petals
