A truly decadent teatime treat...

To craft our creamiest, dreamiest tea, we’ve used a base of fine white tea made from the youngest leaves and buds, picked in the Chinese provinces of Yunnan and Fujian during the spring.

Undergoing minimal processing and left to dry naturally in the sun, these delicate leaves have a certain sweetness which blends remarkably well with white chocolate. We’ve opted for white chocolate made with Chilean cocoa butter, scattering whole pieces amongst the tea leaves for a truly decadent teatime treat....

  • Origin

  • Tastes like

    Rich and creamy white chocolate

  • When to drink

    Perfect for afternoon tea

Brew the perfect cup

Ideally warm the pot first with a splash of hot water. Use one teaspoon (around 2g) per cup and use freshly drawn water which is heated to around 80 degrees. You can either pour the water before it reaches boiling point or allow the water to sit for a few minutes afterwards. Allow to brew for 2-3 minutes according to taste. Should be drunk without milk.

A note from Whittard

“At the moment I’m really into white tea blends, like Chelsea Garden and White Chocolate Tea. Both are amazing with anything creamy. Fondant fancies add a touch of kitsch!”

- Kat, Regent Street Store Manager

Ever since our founder Walter Whittard weighed out tea leaves behind his high mahogany counter, we’ve been experimenting with our own inventive blends. The Chinese were the first to try blending tea leaves with fruits and flowers and it takes time, skill and imagination to master the art. It’s all about creating the perfect balance of flavours: we blind taste at least 20 different variations before settling on the perfect recipe. Just as some musicians have perfect pitch, an expert tea blender needs to have some pretty perceptive tastebuds…

I bought this tea just last week and heartily had my first cup in the last few days. The smell was just delightful and the taste was something I wasn't suspecting. It was delightful all the same and I can't wait to get my next order.

I tasted this in Covent Garden shop and I immediatly loved it. When I drink it in Italy, my mind is in London ... Thanks to Whittard for its good service, so I can buy the white chocolate loose tea when I want. (Sorry for my terrible English)

I selected this tea on a bulk order, really just to make up my quota. White tea and white chocolate...the flavour and scent of the chocolate with the white tea is truly amazing, I love it and I am hooked. Highly recommended.

I bought this on a whim while shopping for gifts for Christmas. One sniff out of the tin and I had to have some! Once steeped, the aroma of the white chocolate is very evident as is the taste. Delicious on its own, it's like a treat in a cup. I will definitely be purchasing this again!
