Apple & Elderflower

Product Details

Fancy a country stroll?

A richly rustic blend of early autumn apples and hedgerow elderflower, with layers of sweet liquorice, vanilla and hibiscus. In the spirit of rolling hills and golden hay bales, we've added a handful of rural rose and marigold petals for a beautiful infusion. Enjoy delicately iced like the last of the summer wine, or steaming hot to ward off the winter chill.

Oh, and just so you know. Our Apple & Elderflower was awarded a Great Taste Award for the second time in 2014. In the words of the judges? “Great elderflower on the nose and on the palate and then, gloriously, the apple comes through - with some rose as well. This is clever and delivers long, long flavours of quality apple, giving a pleasing level of sweetness." Well, we're in agreement. What's your verdict?

This tea is so good - really sweet and apple-y. Such a nice caffeine free option which makes me feel really summery.

Ever since our founder Walter Whittard weighed out tea leaves behind his high mahogany counter, we’ve been experimenting with our own inventive blends. The Chinese were the first to try blending tea leaves with fruits and flowers and it takes time, skill and imagination to master the art. It’s all about creating the perfect balance of flavours: we blind taste at least 20 different variations before settling on the perfect recipe. Just as some musicians have perfect pitch, an expert tea blender needs to have some pretty perceptive tastebuds…

    Flavoured Fruit Infusion

With a caramelised sweetness and a fruity finish, this reminds us of the toffee apples we used to munch after school. Whole chunks of apple and pineapple give it that juicy bite, while scrumptious macadamia nuts add a sophisticated twist. You'll also find it makes for a rather beautiful infusion – after all, why shouldn't tea be pretty?
