Thank you to everyone who entered our Cake in a Mug Blogger Carnival, we have had a lovely time looking at your photos and recipes and have now chosen the winners!!
The overall winner is Lucy of Supergolden Bakes blog with a recipe for Mug-o-Chocolate Cake and she wins a beautiful Bampton set including 6-cup teapot, 6 mugs, 6 side plates, milk jug and sugar bowl worth over £100. We loved the presentation of this cake, but more importantly it’s clear Lucy has a great deal of experience of microwave cake making and has therefore come up with a recipe that really works. As she rightly points out microwaved cakes can be dry or bland or both!
The five runners up will receive a Bampton mug and tub of luxury hot chocolate and here they are, in no particular order:
1) Mapletastic Apple Cake from The Princess and The Pickle blog – we love the Halloween decoration and the seasonal additional of apples from the garden.
2) Chocolate Salted Caramel Mug Cake from Maldeadora blog – this blogger came up with a few different recipes and then put it to a vote such was her dedication! And who could resist the combination of chocolate and salted caramel?
4) Honey and Lemon Microwave Cake in a Cup from Mummy Makes Cakes blog - we thought this was a great flavour combination for this time of year and enjoyed the fresh photography and detailed recipe.
5) White Chocolate Microwave Cake from Kel Loves blog – we thought the step by step photo guide was very handy and thought the final result was very pretty.
Thank you again to everyone who entered, and well done to our winners!
